American hard indie-rock four-piece Me Like Bees might come all the way from Missouri, but they’re achieving every band’s big dream by starting to make waves over this side of the Atlantic as well as on home turf with their upcoming EP There Will Be Time. Not only do they have a new record release on the horizon, but they’ve only gone and teamed up with none other than platinum producer and Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann to do it. With that, it seems like Me Like Bees are already onto a winning formula.
New single ‘Tundraland’, taken from There Will Be Time, is an indie rock tune with a playful side, as shown by the music video- following vocalist Luke Scheafer dressed up as a troublesome puppy as he causes havoc across the town. It’s cute, but not without a cutting alternative edge.
“We enjoy humiliating Luke, so we came up with the idea of putting him in a dog costume. It was a pretty fun shoot!” – Pete Burton, guitar.
Not many bands can say they’ve had the chance to work with one of alternative music’s best-loved producers this early on in their career. But, thanks to a 2014 Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands win against over 20,000 bands, Me Like Bees won the chance to do exactly that. There Will Be Time is released in April, and we can’t help but be excited for what this band has to offer.
