Acoustic is all the rage, right? Sleeping with Sirens and State Champs recently announced an acoustic tour of the UK this summer, while Hit the Lights have just broke the news that they will be releasing an acoustic EP in May. It got us thinking about the times when our favourite bands swapped the amps for the acoustics and actually came up with something even better than the originals- here are just seven amazing performances that sprung to mind!
Vic Fuentes (Pierce the Veil) & Jen McDougall (Tonight Alive) – Hold On Till May
When vocalists Vic Fuentes of post-hardcore band Pierce the Veil and Jen McDougall of Australian pop-rockers Tonight Alive joined forces for this exclusive Alternative Press version of ‘Hold On Till May’, it turned what was already a beautiful track into an absolutely stunning one.
PVRIS – White Noise
We like to think of PVRIS as a band with attitude, a feisty threesome full of force, so how do they pull off an acoustic version of hit ‘White Noise’? With bite, of course! Just because they’re playing acoustic doesn’t mean they’re cooling off- in fact, PVRIS are only just getting started!
FVK – Maeby
Always ones to create a little drama, it’s not really a shock that FVK decided to take chilling single ‘Maeby’ and record an even more haunting version during their acoustic session with Mix Radio last summer- as if it wasn’t creepy enough already!
