Folk-punk singer-songwriter Patrick Craig has announced plans to release two Christmas cover songs in support of two different London charities, Glass Door Homeless Shelter and Wandsworth Food Bank.

The reworked traditional Christmas tunes- ‘Hark the Herald‘ and ‘Silent Night‘- will be released on 16th December, midway through Patrick Craig’s UK tour, via Under the Bridge Records as a pay-what-you-like download.

Speaking of the charity releases, Patrick has said: “With some spare studio time as I was working on some demos, I ended up recording two of my favourite carols. Christmas music seems to be turning into its own genre these days and that was something a wanted to shy away from, instead celebrating how well written some Christmas carols are.¬†Half the proceeds are going to be going to be split between Wandsworth foodbank. It operates out of st Michaels church in Southfields and Glass Door, a homeless shelter that operates across various churches to provide a warm meal and a safe place to sleep each night.

We think it’s fantastic to see artists helping those less fortunate, especially at this time of year. Check out the links at the top of the page to find out more about each charity!
