Home of Metal, a project that explores the origins of heavy metal music by bringing together exhibitions, memorabilia and personal stories from fans, has teamed up with Black Sabbath on their final UK tour.
Home of Metal are set to join the band on every date of their tour to take portraits of fans in the foyer of each venue, as well as asking fans to contribute any of their own photos or memorabilia for an international exhibit which will tour across the world in 2018 and also be on display in Birmingham in 2019.
The Home of Metal project is also working towards a permanent Black Sabbath collection. Speaking of working with the Home of Metal, Tony Iommi has said: “An artist or band’s success can be measured by their relationship with the fans and the success of the ‘Home of Metal’ exhibition brought home just how dedicated and loyal ours are. It’s always humbling to realise how you’ve touched people’s lives with your music, a project where fans are actively involved would be great.”
